History of Assaults

Since the start of the full-scale conflict in Ukraine, a string of Russian military commanders have been targeted within Moscow.

This latest event echoes other serious incidents, such as:

  • General Yaroslav Moskalik was lost his life in a automobile blast in Moscow earlier this year.
  • General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a device placed on a scooter was set off from a distance.

While a Ukrainian source previously connected Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are not publicly admitted as a matter of standard practice.

The conflict has increasingly seen covert operations moving into the streets of the Russian capital.

The investigation into General Sarvarov's death is still active.
