Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing offensive against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites associated with the the regime, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted missile fragments landed in a populated district in the capital, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
