Mohamed Salah Offers Statement to Squad, Says Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Mohamed Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad after the fallout from his televised remarks.

The Incident

He was omitted from a European match following voicing frustrations and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”

The manager has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.

Team Unity

The player stated that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.

The midfielder also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is preferable. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

On-Field Response

Liverpool's form have been impressive in the period after the situation. The player is convinced the Salah's words were never meant to harm the team.

“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, playing well and securing victories.”
