Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling students that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, the head of a major education union rejected the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his public life on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on a proposed education policy and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

However, his comments suggested the group would reform the educational framework. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – truly monumental. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring a conservative activist, Farage said: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves as opposed to what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I mean this. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to your online courses. I pledge this now and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. The college furnishes these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
