President Trump Calls Families of Injured Military Soldiers to the White House

Former President Donald Trump announced on the weekend that he has invited the loved ones of a Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the presidential home.

He noted that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Devastating Incident

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Vigils across West Virginia have taken place in their honor.

White House Invitation

The president explained he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president addressed the press. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”

Community Response

Community members assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been working with the state guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to aid public safety in DC.

Honoring the Soldier

“She was the kind of student that instructors hoped for. She behaved with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that lifted people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of her previous school, told the press. “She was kind, considerate and always ready to support those in need.”

Memorial details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Steps and Policy Revisions

Law enforcement have charged a 29-year-old Afghan national with a charge of murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The incident led the government to suspend refugee claims and halt providing visas to holders of travel documents.

Status of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, per the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey mentioned on a news program.

Attorney general the attorney general informed the program that she also intended to visit his relatives.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a law enforcement officer with excellence, per the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had bravery,” he told the gathering at the memorial. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
