Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil are two of the early names under consideration to replace the former manager as manager of Wolves.

Pereira was dismissed on Sunday following the squad's ten-game without a victory beginning to the Premier League season.

And both candidates - both of who have historic links to the team - are among the names to be evaluated by the club ownership.

Edwards is currently at Middlesbrough, which would create a possible hurdle to his appointment at Molineux.

However the ex- Luton head coach - who made more than 100 of appearances for Wolves during his playing career - is considered a leading candidate for the vacancy.

The mid-career manager is said to have backing from the Wolves directors as they start the process of appointing a fresh head coach.

O'Neil is additionally appearing as a surprise contender, although he would be a shock appointment considering he was released by Wolves in the previous winter.

The ex- West Ham player is out of work which means Wolves would not be required to pay any compensation.
